SQLQuery Help
Hello -
I am trying to use an SQLQuery task in my workflow to connect to an excel spreadsheet and am having a hard time trying to understand the tools/tasks that need to follow after the SQLQuery task in order for the sql query to work. Within my workflow, I have a "querytask" and "selectfeatures" task to select the appropriate parcels. I want to do an SQLQuery on the selected features to only display the parcels based on certain criteria, such as parcels greater than a certain property size, etc. Looking at some examples of workflows that I have come across, I noticed that the "assign" , "DataTabletoFeature" and "CreateDataset" tools were used in sequence after the SQLQuery tool. I have tried to use these tools but with no success, and given my experience in these tools I am still in the learning process of understanding which tools need to follow the SQLQuery tool and how they are used. Any help/suggestions is greatly appreciated!

Hi Larisa again
Is there a reason why the data in the xls cannot be in your nearest SQL database?
I would suggest that you will get better results without having to worry about what Data Providers are installed on the server etc
Regards
Ralph
PS it looks like the data connection string that I used in that last workflow is likely not to work depending on what Data Providers you have installed on your server.

Hi Ralph -
Thanks so much for the workflow! I am currently working on numerous small projects and I will take a look at your recommendations and test your workflow.
In terms of answering your question about why the data in the xls cannot be in a nearest SQL database - we dont have an SQL service and the only databases we can use are MS Access and MS Excel, for now at least.
Thanks!
