Turn Basemap off

Hi All

I apologise if there is already a post regarding this…my searching proved to be fruitless

I was wondering if there was any way to enable a user to turn off basemaps in the HTML5 Viewer.  The Silverlight viewer has the ability to check on or off the basemaps, but it seems you can only switch between basemaps in HTML5.

  What version do you have?  I'm current, and I have that ability:

  Do you have Include in Layer List checked in the map service settings on the the Display Settings tab?

  I do not seem to have that option at the Services level.  In my version, there is a Layer List tab under Map, and there you can check to show in Layer List.

  If I remember correctly, I had a similar issue to you before I upgraded to the current versions.  There has been a big paradigm shift in how the layer list is treated.  Like the old WebADF, you can now add folders and move layers anywhere you want them.  The current version is very buggy, however - especially in Silverlight.  It took me hours to set my sites to work correctly.  If I had it to do over again, I would not have upgraded until the next version.
