Arcgis Server 10.1 output directory png via Proxy.ashx not honoured?

Hi,

Almost all our web requests are the usual https://{fully qualified server name}/SLProxy/proxy.ashx?https://{fully qualified server name}:{port}/arcgis/rest/services/WBM/Infrastructure_Assets/MapServer/export?dpi=96&transparent=true&format=png8&layers={etc,etc}&bbox=16378425.982316213%2C-5077199.115831925%2C16378894.756278599%2C-5077046.540357543&bboxSR=102100&imageSR=102100&size=1570%2C511&f=image

which are working fine.

A few refer to png's in the ArcGIS Server output directory

e.g. https://{fully qualified server name}:{port}/arcgis/rest/directories/arcgisoutput/WBM/Infrastructure_Assets_MapServer/_ags_mapfca38440aa064bba86c754cf227c2d36.png

These are not going via the proxy.ashx so won't resolve.

If I copy the output URL and add the proxy URL? it goes via the proxy.ashx fine.

Is it possible to make this type of request honour the proxy.ashx or alternatively can I make ArcGIS Server use

a map server export rather than png from the output directory (as a workaround?)

  Unfortunately, solved for now by disabling dynamic layers on the services.

  Hoped to remove the output directory for those services being only map

  services. But ArcGIS Server 10.1 would not initialise the service once

  the output directory was removed.
