Profile Tool Workflow
Hello,
I am trying to implement the new workflow version of this sample tool and have run into a few confusing items. Since there is no explainations like there was on the old tool I am looking for some guidence and help.
The description states that it assumes you have an elevation layer with a configured chart with and ID of Profile in your map. This is a little confusing since the workflow calls for a elevation point layer when you start to load the workflow. What is the required sample size in the elevation point layer? It requests the mapservice ID's for the DEM and the Elevation points but specifies a string when the ID is numeric. Does it want the display name or ID number? I am also confused as to how to setup the chart. The exaple on the site pulls points and sets the chart with an elevation and distance axis. A point elevation layer would not have a distance field and therfore you could not configure that axis?
No matter how I set the workflow up I keep recieving a 404 error when I exicute it so I am just looking to see if I can review how someone else has it configured to help me figure my issue out.

maybe check out this link - it's fairly recent.
I'm about to start on this also - having relied on the older silverlight plugin from the code gallery, so hoepfully I can get this going also!
I did look at the new 4.3 beta site for the profiling :
and I'm hoping it's done the same way before going off and attempting all of this - has anyone had any experience in the 4.3 beta and if so any changes to the way the profile charting is done?
