Select features for edit

Hi,

I am trying to create a workflow which will allow a user to select a feature, view the shape area attribute and then be able to use the 'Reshape' tool and then the feature and shape area attribute to refresh.

The options i can think of are:

Edit Attributes to view the area field --> Reshape --> Use 'EditLayerChangedEvent' to listen for cange --> call stored procedure to update shape area field --> Refresh map and attribute table (dont know how to do this)

Ideally i would like a button the user clicks then selects the feature and then views the shape area field and then uses the reshape tool and then the map and table refresh. I do not believe the workflows have this functionality yet?

Is there a way to select a feature for editing and view the attributes? I can not seem to find a select for editing tool.

Any help will be greatly recieved.
