Attach corrupts .xlsx

We are experiencing corrupted Excel .xlsx documents when users try and view/download the attached file. Excel throws the error below, and attempts to "recover" the document fail. Not sure if this is a GCE upload/handler issue or an ESRI attachment issue. Is anyone else able to replicate this error?

  Jim,

   

  Did you ever find a solution to this?  We are experiencing the same problem with .docx attached files and it does not appear to be consistent among viewers (ex: one viewer it works fine, another the corruption error appears when downloading the same document).  I'm lead to believe this is a viewer issue but have not been able to come up with a solution to this, we are currently on Viewer for HTM5 2.4.

  No I have not. Our workaround at the moment is to have the users save the file as .xls and those seem to not get corrupted. All I could do is add a message to the upload form that "If uploading Excel file use .xls only." There was no fix on the move to 2.3.
