Changing cursor styles

Is there a way to override the automatic cursor?  I'm running a workflow that has a captureGeometry in it, and I'd like to somehow swap the default arrow with a crosshair.  I've tried writing a custom external function to use dojo to override the cursor style on #mapContainer but that doesn't seem to be working.

Any tips?  Is it even possible?  I saw another thread that says it "isn't possible form a workflow" but that doesn't necessarily mean it's not possible with some module coding...
