I'm also getting this message.  There's an error in the log file, I'm not sure if it's related:

The instant search settings in the administrators guide shows how to test if instant search is working.  It appears to be but I get a file called MJ1PKP92.json

Step 4: Test that Instant Search is Working

    1. Type http://localhost:9200/ into your browser's address bar and press Enter.

If your browser prompts you to open or save a file called localhost.json, Instant Search is working. You can

now close the Windows Services panel.

I tried that test and got no prompt.

I am also having the same issue with the same versions. I have saved the json file and it has a status of 200, not sure what that means. I've installed a test instance with a new instant search and I still get the same message that the instant search is not enabled.

I found messages in the error logs about being unable to remove the data folder until a server reboot. I restarted my server and the Instant Search now seems to be available/working.

I am having the same issue but figured out that when I change (a public URL vs. a private URL) how I connect to the data I want to index, this makes indexing enabled or disabled. I am going to check the logs for the reboot message and see if that fixes this issue.

    Thanks!!

The log containing the error messages was in \InstantSearch\SecurityStore\%servername%\logs .

ERROR [NonPeriodicTasks:1] 2015-05-29 09:03:06,901 SSTableDeletingTask.java:89 - Unable to delete F:\InstantSearch\SecurityStore\%Servername%\data\data\system\local-7ad54392bcdd35a684174e047860b377\system-local-ka-4-Data.db (it will be removed on server restart; we'll also retry after GC)

I'm having the same problem and getting similar errors message to David's with map services that had instant search enable and configured prior to installing Essentials 4.3 and HTML5 2.4.  Did anyone find a solution to this problem?

    Thanks.

I was able to get instant search enabled by restart the Geocortex Core service.

    Thanks.
