4.2 Preparing security store hangs on post installation configuration
Hi there,
I've installed Geocortex Essentials 4.3 by ugrading from 4.2 but when I try to run the post installation configuration it gets stuck attempting to connect to Geocortex Core services, see screen shot. I imagine there's some configuration I need to setup.

Thanks

I'm about 15 minutes ahead of you. I left it for a good 5 minutes and it eventually worked.

We had a similar issue here and Geocortex had to assist. I think our issue was with the required ports for the Core were being blocked, since these ports were not required to be open in version 4.2 and earlier.

Hi David,
Is there anything on or around your server that might be blocking network communication back to itself?
We're going to try to make a network connection to "servername" on TCP port 6379 at this point in the post install.
If that succeeds we'll try to make another connection back to ourselves to the security store on TCP ports 7000, 7199, 9042, 17000, 17199, and 19042. (I don't know exactly which one(s), those are the ports opened by the security store)
We've also seen this message pop up if the Geocortex Core service has not fully started. In Task Manager, do you see many processes with names like Geocortex.Platform.Roles.XXXX? There should be 15 of those running by default.

Probably simila issues but after our upgrade Rest Manager would not start on the server for us. We fixed our issues by paying attention to the host list boxes on pg 69 of the GCX Installation Guide.
We had one but not the other listed. I did not mess with the store.

Thanks for the responses.
I got it to work by simply waiting for several minutes after a reboot before opening post installation configuration. I had tried leaving it in "attempting to connect to Geocortex Core services" for over 10 minutes on previous attempts to . No idea why it worked this time round.
As Malcolm suggested, maybe there was a port conflict occurring. There's a huge number of listening ports on this machine, many from ArcSOC.exe, java.exe & javaw.exe.
Cheers

+1 for a reboot, hung for 10+ minutes, went right through after a restart and a 10 minute sit before I ran post installation.
Thanks for the thread!

I was experiencing the same issue with 4.3.1 and a reboot of the server resolved the issue. 0
