Bookmark behaviour in 2.4 viewer
I just noticed that the bookmark module in the 2.4 viewer seems to behave differently than in 2.3.
In the 2.3 viewer, if you enabled the 2 checkboxes for Bookmarks in Essentials Manager (Enabled and Show Bookmarks Button), the viewer would load and the bookmark button would display below the zoomin/zoomout +/- buttons. Clicking on the button would open the flyout menu that shows 'Bookmark Current Extent'.
In the 2.4 viewer, with those same 2 checkboxes enabled, when the viewer loads the button does not display below the +/- zoom controls. In order for the button to appear you need to go to 'I want to.... Bookmark Current Map Extent' which then asks you for the bookmark name. Once you add the bookmark, the button then appears below the zoom controls. Clicking on the button then gives the expected flyout menu.
Has anyone else noticed this? Is this the expected behaviour in the 2.4 viewer?
Peter.

I just noticed this also. Being very new to Essentials, (having just installed 2.3 in March and upgraded to 2.4 last week) I thought I was just missing something.

Hi Peter, Kathy, Yes, this is expected behaviour and is new for the 2.4 viewer. The bookmarks widget will only be visible on the map if at least one bookmark was added (by the administrator or user). By default, there is an entry in the "I Want To" menu that allows users to add new bookmarks. There is also a new bookmark tool that you can place in the viewer's toolbar. This tool can be used instead of (or in addition to) the map widget and menu entry. You can find more details in the Bookmarks Module section of the Geocortex Viewer for HTML5 Administrator and Developer Guide. 0
