OptimizerEvent Activity

I have an urgent need to track a workflows usage and can't wait for Insight to come out, so I am looking for a way with Optimizer.

Has anyone been successful in getting the OptimizerEvent Activity in Workflow to show up in Reports on Optimizer?

I found the following thread from Ralph from 2013 that seems to be unresolved:

I have had no luck with any Event Name or Event Info combination.  Any help is appreciated!

  Hi Nelson,

  The OptimizerEvent activity is able to get the event data into the Optimizer database, but as far as I know there isn't an out-of-the-box Reportlet in Optimizer to present this data. You would need to create a custom reportlet to do this.

  Thank you for the response Ryan.  But just out of curiousity what all is involved in creating a Custom Reportlet?  I didn't find anything in the documentation on this (unless I have looked in the wrong place).

  Also, when Insight comes out, will there be an activity in Workflow for Insight integration?
