can i run workflows in offline mode?

I cannot seem to get even the most basic workflow to function in offline mode. (hello world alert box).  does the geocortex offline client for windows support workflows?  the hello world workflow dissappears when i go offline, re-appears when i come back online.  Is there a way to utilize workflows in offline mode?

some guidance or information would be very helpful at this point.  We have a lot of field-going persons who need offline functionality, that would include certain workflows.

  Workflow cannot function  without an active connection to Essentials. The viewer needs to communicate with an endpoint which processes the workflow file on the server and sends instruction sets to the client.
