Layer IDs
I'm trying to figure out when the Get Map Service Info activity can be used for object tables in the map service.
I have two sites set up on different servers. For the first site the Get Map Service Info activity can retrieves the layer IDs of the map layers AND also the object tables in the map service.
For the second site the Get Map Service Info activity can retrieve the layer IDs of the map layers BUT NOT the layer IDs of the object tables.
Both sites are using 'Geocortex Services Enhancement Proxy' and 'Web Tier' authentication in their map service connections. The first site is to an internal server, the second site is to an external server.
Under what conditions can the Get Map Service Info activity retrieve the layer IDs of object tables?
Thanks

What version of GE are you using? I was able to get map service info for published feature tables at GE 2.1 using the GVS 2.2. Since going to GE 4.3 and the GVH 2.4 it won't get the layer ID anymore. However, you can still access the table in a display form if you hard code the table's layer ID when setting the runtime modificatio ns. Not a very flexible workaround, but at least it still works.

The Get Map Service Info activity is not currently able to access the tables of a map service in GVH. Unfortunately tables are not made available by the ArcGIS API for JavaScript the way they were for Silverlight.

Do you think you'll eventually be able to access tables using the JS API? Hard coding the layer ID to use in workflows works fine for now, but it would be great to be able to switch back to using Get Map Service Info so the workflow stays completely portable.

One way or another yes.
If Esri adds support for tables to the JSAPI we'll easily be able to support this. We aren't counting on this though. We are working on some changes to make Essentials aware of the map service tables and relay this information to the viewer to fill in the gaps in the JSAPI . This is several months away though.
