Toggle Labels On/Off
The Silverlight version has the ability for the user to toggle labels on/off and even symbolize them in the application. They do this by clicking on the layer name, it opens a context window and gives a "Show Labels" checkbox at the bottom.
This was a really useful feature and empowered our users to control the information they see on the map. In version 2.4 the Show Labels check box was added in Essentials Manager for the Site Administrator in the site configuration. Will the "Show Labels" checkbox also be extended to the users in the Site so they can take advantage of it when they are using the application?

Hi Keith
is what is in (https://support.geocortex.com/essentialsGSCForum?id=9066000000006d3AAA) this thread what you are talking about?

Ralph,
It started out the same way, but the solution provided was off, which is why I started a new thread specifying the end user being able to toggle labels on and off. The solution in that thread only allows the admin to set whether they are visible or not for anyone who uses the applicaiton. We need functionality similiar to the Silverlight viewer, that allows the user to turn them on and off.

Hi Keith
Sorry about that I had hoped that it would include that as some of the reasons that I have delayed our venture into GE HTML5 is due to some of those sorts of features. Having labels turned on all the time until they are small, almost single character labels such as address labels are a bit annoying in my book.
Hopefully some progress soon. The HTML5 world sounds great but the variety of implementations and capabilities are a bit frustrating.

Ralph,
I would recommend getting started sooner than later. The core product is there, and there are some amazing enhancements I didn't know about until I started the migration. Just little things, that make a big difference. Is it all there, no, but don't let the little things get in the way.

Hi Keith
some of my other issues were around the display of related datalink which is only now getting to a state that is not going to be too much of a jump for our users from the Silverlight viewer to the HTML5 viewer. Not that there isn't a bit of UX to refine as yet. I complement Latitude Geographics on the challenge that they have taken up. There is however definite progress.
Each time I have looked at picking up and running with a version of the HTML5 viewer there have appeared a number of issues but greater forces are now at play to shifting.
