Save Layer Visibility With Bookmark?

Is there a way a user can save they layers they want turned on/off and the map extent using Bookmark? Or could this be done with a workflow?

  I'd be interested to hear feedback on this topic, as well.  I've wondered if coding a user-cookie would be a solution.  Any additional thoughts would be helpful.

  I want to do something like this as well. It seems like you should be able to setup a Feature layer and then have a workflow tool that will load a new Feature layer if a bookmark is selected. I'm not sure how to do that yet, but if I figure it out, I'll follow up.
