HTML5 Viewer slowness
Is anyone with the latest and greatest Essentials and HTML5 experiencing slowness in their production viewers?
We are testing the latest and greatest Essentials and HTML5 on a test server, our production viewers are from Essentials 3.14.0 and html5 1.2.. The test viewers seem to be running a lot slower than our production viewers especially in the field. Yes, our test server is not robust as our production server.
Some of our users are complaining, some of the comments:
"Almost as if the browser has stopped working"
"Still loads slowly",
"it timed out a few times"
In the previous version the legend for only the cache map service that was turned on by default would display. So, we took out the layers for the cached services in geocortex, this made it some what faster when displaying.
In the latest version of essentials now shows a legend for all your cache layers, so we added the layers back in the cached map services that we wanted to see in the legend. Now the viewers seem slower again.
GeoCortex did help us speed it up some with the WCAG features, Geocortex support suggestion (below)
"Those are new calls recently introduced to the 2.4 viewer and they are related to the new WCAG feature. WCAG is the accessibility functions to support people with disabilities. There is an enhancement currently filed (GVH-6032) to improved the speed based on the new changes and it's also possible to disable the WCAG features to speed up the viewer. To disable it you would edit the Desktop.json (or handheld) and look for the line - "moduleName" : "Accessibility",. by changing "isEnabled" to false the function would be disabled."
