Override Maximum scale - basemap not visible

    Mark,

I'm having the same issue... The HTML viewer refuses to draw the lower scales that I've set up for the Silverlight viewer. I was using a dummy cache layer at the bottom of the layer list to set the scale schema for the clients, rather than the Override functions, and still no luck.

If LG could take a look at this, that would be great.

I can confirm this same issue, running HTML5 viewer 2.5.0 under Essentials 4.4.1.

We can't transition from Silverlight until issues like these are resolved.

I am also having this issue.  We are using ESRI's World Imagery and the image stops drawing as you zoom in.  My other services continue to draw.

The Min/Max Scales in the viewer config do not seem to be working like the Silverlight Viewer.

Adding that this is also with HTML 2.5.0 and Essentials 4.4.1.

    Hi Everyone,

Unfortunately, the HTML Esri map can only display basemaps at scale levels that are actually defined in the map service. The Silverlight map gets around this by zooming tile images, but the HTML map does not have this capability. If you have access to another basemap service that goes beyond the scale range of your existing one, then you can add both to your site and configure their scale ranges such that they don't overlap. Then, when a user zooms beyond the scale range of one basemap, it will automatically switch over to the other. Otherwise, the usefulness of the map scale override in the HTML viewer is limited to showing features at scales beyond the basemap's scale range, or else to constrain the scale range of the map.

    Hi Eric.

Thanks for your response, but unfortunately that's not a viable solution for us at all.

We cache our aerial photography (currently 10 years worth and growing) to a scale of 1:500 and our users want to be able to still see this when zoomed in to 1:50.

It is not feasible for us to cache each of these map services to 1:50 in order to replicate functionality that we already had in the Silverlight viewer.

This is just one more feature that we need before we consider the HTML5 viewer to be at parity with the Silverlight viewer, and will be a show stopper for any future transition.

I hope you are able to provide a viable solution in keeping with the behaviour of the Silverlight viewer.
