profile chart in report designer does not come out???

I have a profile tool working in essentials, but it does not carry through to the layer report i have built to put the profile chart into reports.  here's my symtoms:

if i physically update my profile points layer, as in load them into sde, there is no problem with the chart carrying through to the report.  But since this is a user query and results are temporary, i do not want to store or manage all of the points that might be created.  instead i create a featureset in workflow, where is add samplepoints from a json return from the elevation site to featureset created in memory.  the problem is that the points in the workflow created featureset do carry through to the report.  they do work in the viewer just fine.  So my question is how to you put a profile graph created from a workflow featureset to the report writer. Am i supposed to create a layer, not just a selection table. or maybe let me ask this, has anyone been able to create profile graphs with report writer while using the profile tool downloadable from the geocortex website?

  I know this post is getting on for nearly a year old but has anyone been able to achieve this yet?

   

  In my case the users want to be able to export the Profile Chart without having to screen grab!

   

  As described above I think the issue is that when creating the profile it is creating a temporary set of points which you cannot configure a chart on.

   

  I was hoping the Layer Chart object in the Report Designer would pull through the Profile Chart in a Print template but no joy.
