Layer transparency

Chris,   If you are using semitransparent layers (partial transparency), then the only way the ADF will properly render the layers with multiple services is if you're using PNG32 as an image format and you convert your map service to an MSD (optimized MXD).   You can read more about how ArcGIS Server handles transparency here:   http://support.esri.com/index.cfm?fa=knowledgebase.techArticles.articleShow&d=34082

Thanks Malcom! Adding the ImageFormat="PNG32" did the trick!

Can you try to set the image format to PNG32 in REST Manager?

This option is found on the 'Display Settings' tab of the Map Service options window.

    Hi Kevin,

Yes I did that, but the image is still not visible. It seems that the transparency (50%) of the polygon layer above it is not taken into account, either by  Geocortex Manager or by the HTML5 viewer.

PNG32 is set for both services? I was on site with a client earlier this year, and this was exactly something that we fixed by changing the image format. As far as I know, transparency is something that is just passed through from the service pending that the image format supports alpha values. GVH/Essentials wouldn't have much impact on it, if any at all.

If you are still not getting the expected outcome, I suggest to open up a support ticket by emailing support@latitudegeo.com. Wish I could be of more help to you.
