Execute SQL for a Data Link when the Data Link is not set to Visible

It would be very desirable to have the SQL statement in a Data Link execute and retrieve data content, without requiring the Data Link to also be visible in the Feature Details.

I often create Data Links to features so that I can display more information in a Feature Details than just the attributes of the feature.  But I have to also display the Data Link to get any content.  So now that I already have the content of the Data Link fields formatted and displayed prettily in my Feature Details, I also have to display them again at the bottom of my Feature Details or there will not be any content in their fields.

This requires me to get "creative" in finding ways to display the same information twice without appearing to do so.
