How to make pic PictureMarkerSymbol or TextSymbol stay on map when running workflow

When running workflows that use "DisplayCaptureGeometry activity " any symbols made using javascript code with either 

esri.symbol.PictureMarkerSymbol  or esri.symbol.TextSymbol will disappear,  but if I use geocortex's markup symbol commands they don't

disappear.  I was wondering if anybody knew what needs to be set through geocortex in the javascript so I don't lose the symbols.

 I need Textsymbols to be made with-out prompts, and have picture symbols so I can use the Export Image workflow activity

to make a map image
