Offline Mode
Hello,
I would like to get some clarity regarding Offline mode in HTML5 viewers.
Do you require the Geocortex Mobile App Framework? Or can I use the Offline capablities within my HTML5 viewer without additional applications?
Thanks
Cathy

Hi Cathy,
In previous versions of GVH we had supported offline in the browser, but it was quite flakey and wasn't a very great user experience.
With the introduction of Geocortex Mobile Application Framework 1.3 and Geocortex HTML5 Viewer 2.5 we only support Offline within the GMAF App. This is primarily due to the new way of storing the viewer for use in offline that was introduced in 1.3, but also reflects our goals for changing how data is taken offline in the future.
Let me know if you have further questions, I would be happy to answer any!

Thanks Cory,
I am currently using HTML viewer 2.4 - do I have to upgrade to 2.5 for the offline capabilities to work?
Do I have to install the Mobile framework as well?

Hi Cathy,
With HTML5 viewer 2.4 you will be able to use the offline functionality in your browser and in the Geocortex Mobile App Framework (either one will work), but we do suggest updating to 2.5 and using GMAF if available. This is primarily due to the changes I mentioned in my first post, which make offline much more reliable.
If you do choose to update to 2.5 you will have to use the Geocortex Mobile App Framework.Cory Purnell
