How do I use Global Search from a Site with Integrated Windows Authentication and Open(non-Secured) ArcGIS Server Map Services?

Global Search not working with Windows Integrated Security at Site Level

 

Upgrading to Essentials 4.4 from 4.3 and GVH 2.4 -> 2.5

 

 

 

After upgrading to Essentials v4.4/GVH2.5 my Global search no longer works.  I am getting this error: Layer Search Provider (Transmission Station (Tri-State)): Invalid Token

 

Digging into this I have found that the site is passing a token on the ArcGIS Server Map Server request:

Prior to the upgrade Global Search would make the request to ArcGIS Server REST API – as below:

• We are NOT using ArcGIS-Server secured services.
• We are NOT using windows impersonation. 
• We are using Integrated Windows Authentication with Single-Sign On
• We are Denying Guest Access to the Site 

If I build a new Essentials 4.4 Site with GVH 2.5 add a map service the Global search works. As soon as I set Permissions at the site level to allow Windows Integrated – All Users.  Global Search breaks as stated above.
