Unable to register android app with GE instance

Geocortex Mobile App Framework for Android 1.3 fails to register the application with the Geocortex Essentials instance, it keeps saying that there is a problem in connecting to the server after using the registration URL (http://geoptax.com/Geocortex/Essentials/REST/EssentialsRegistration), or when scanning the  barcode using the device’s camera

 

What might be the issue here?

  Hi Hani,

  Have you tried going to just that url in your browser on the android device? I tried your url on my GMAF app and it loaded your viewers successfully. There might be an issue with your network accessing your Geocortex Essentials server but I am not sure what it could be at this time.

  Oh sorry Hani I also meant to mention, when performing the registration via the text input (the 2nd picture you have) the url to input is http://geoptax.com/Geocortex/Essentials/Rest without the /EssentialsRegistration part.

  I tried your suggestion and it worked well. However, seems that there is another reason for this problem which lies in the the android device itself; I was trying with tablets (Smasung Galaxy Tab 3 and Samsung Galaxy Tab 2) and they failed to load the viewer even with "geoptax.com/Geocortex/Essentials/Rest" link (Also the interface was not working well with these devices and the default Sample World Cities app did not work with them). Whereas, when I used a Samsung Galaxy E7 mobile, the life was easier and everything went perfectly (the interface launched properly, and the viewer was downloaded)
