    Hello Kim,

I just wanted note that only GE 4.2 and newer have been fully tested to be compatible with ArcGIS 10.3, but it is strange that only you are seeing this issue. What browser are you using with Essentials, and does it occur in all browsers?

    Thanks, Stefan

I have a similar issue where it only occurs when connecting to my test ArcGIS machine from the GE dev environment. I found ignoring the web adaptor and connecting straight to the port that ArcGIS is running on gets it working.

I presumed the issue was either with the way this web adaptor is set up or the fact that the servers are in different domains. Indeed, checking different browsers is a good idea.

I have upgraded to GE 4.4.3 and am still unable to see the ArcGIS 10.3.1 web adaptor from GE.

Browsers tried include Chrome and IE 11.

    Hello,

I am seeing the same issue.  I am running ArcGIS 10.2.1 (ArcGIS Server, Web Adaptor) with GE 4.4.  From another laptop I can hit the viewer, but I get an error that the viewer is having trouble reaching the services.  I tested the rest/services URL without using the port and I can see them from the viewer machine.  Using the port number, I cannot.  When I try to edit the connection to the Map Server in GE and remove the port, the connection fails.  I am using chrome in both the laptop that is trying to hit the viewer and the GE / ArcGIS Server machine.

Just wondering... do you have any AGS security applied (token or Active Directory)?  If so, is it controlled through web tier (IIS / web adaptor) or application tier (ArcGIS)?

Fixed. Had to set the Essentials app pools (EssentialsAppPool4 and EssentialsAdministrationAppPool4) identity to a custom (service) account that had access to the ArcGIS Server machine.

And yes, we do have AGS security applied through web tier, as described here: http://server.arcgis.com/en/server/latest/administer/windows/securing-web-services-with-integrated-windows-authentication.htm
