Layer Themes and Global Search - issue

I have a HTML5 viewer (2.5.1) that has Layer Themes setup. When I use the Global Search, results are returned for all of the layers in the Site, not just the layers in the Layer theme. Is there a way to change this?

  Hello Bobby,

   

  You can disable the map service that you don't want to search in manager (site->map->map services).

  No, I cannot turn off the map service in manager. What does that mean?

  Hi Bobby Jo,

  I believe this is actually a bug in the software, there is an issue listed in our internal bug tracking software and I have added you as a stakeholder and I will attempt to raise the issue's priority. 

  What Long is referring to is the ability to turn off global search for the layer. This will however turn it off regardless of which theme you are on. To do this navigate to the Map Tab in Essentials Manager, in the Map Service section find the layer in question and click the downard facing arrow beside it. There will be a context menu which you can choose the capabilities of that layer, here you can turn off global search for the layer.

  I will keep this post updated on any further developments regarding the issue in our internal bug tracking system.

  Thank you Cory. I look forward to hearing from you. I have also noticed in the Silverlight viewer that the same sort of thing is happening. When I go into edit a layer I am given all of the editable layers in the site, not just the ones that are visible in the viewer (visible in the Layer Theme).  Thanks again and happy holidays.

  What is the status of this?  I'm on 4.5.1/2.6.1 and it is still a problem - I'm getting search results for layers that are not on the current layer theme...  This is pretty big for me.

  This is an issue right now for me as well. This does not only persist to Global Search but also persists to Identify tool, Query tool, etc. Any updates on this bug?

  This bug needs to be fixed asap, layer themes are flawed until this bug is fixed.
