Attachment download no file type

When I click on a feature attachment in Chrome or Firefox, it downloads the image and names it by its unique ID. However, it doesn't assign a file type, so you can't open it until you add the proper image extension to it.

 

Is this a known behavior/bug, or did I miss a configuration setting somewhere?
