Base map control as layer theme selector in HTML5 viewer

In the Silverlight viewer it's possible to use the base map control to toggle between layer themes (as per the GE Administrator guide chapter 24.2).

 

Is there any way to implement this in the HTML5 viewer? We'd like to show our users which layer theme they are currently viewing, but that information gets hidden from the layer list when the user makes a selection/identifies a feature etc. (If anyone could think of another way to display the current layer theme to our users, that would be great.)

 

If it's not currently possible, does anyone know if this is planned to be implemented in the HTML5 viewer in future?
