Does instant search show hints for numeric fields

Hi,

 

I have a couple fields with numeric fields like an asset number ID or similar. With instant search enabled, these features are returned by the search, but no hints are displayed for them. Hints are working well for text fields. Is this expected?

 

This is for essentials 4.5 and html5 viewer 2.6.

  Instant Search should search all fields regardless of data type. Check your fields under the fields tab in Manager to make sure that that field is visible to search.

  Thanks for the reply. The fields are definitely searchable because I'm able to search on values in those fields and get results. The only issue is I'm not seeing the dropdown list of search hints for those numeric values. Getting hints for text fields but not numeric. Thx.

  I'm experiencing the same issue as Zorba.  If you put a number in the Search box there are never search hints returned.

   

  The results of numeric searches are returned so fast it is probably using the Instant Search index, but it never gives hints.

  Hi Dan and Zorba,

   

  I'm able to search numbers without issue, and my searches auto complete as expected.  Are you still experiencing this issue?  If so, can you please try deleting your index from the Instant search tab, and reindexing?
