Migrating or preserving HTML5 projects between servers

Hello!

 

How do I migrate or preserve projects in one environment when deploying from another? Within our organization we have three environments (DEV, QUT, and PRD) and when deploying QUT to PRD we would like to retain all the clients Saved Projects in PRD. If we deploy the entire site from QUT to PRD all Projects in PRD would be overwritten with the QUT Projects.

 

What is the best way to preserve the Saved Projects in PRD?

  Hi Steve,

   

  Saved projects in GVH end up in Elastic Search and cannot be moved between instances or servers very easily.  There is a feature request (GVH-11087) to add this capability but there is no implementation date set (if it is implemented at all).

  So if we are going to replace a server, all the saved projects will be gone?

  Thanks for that :) I'm familiar with this article already unfortunately. 

   

   

  Can you comment on the ability to merge two documentStores/Clusters?

   

  We've been attempting to import JSON from one cluster (the user document index) to another with no success. Is this something that can be done?

  Hi Aled, I'm happy Nico was able to get you the correct link. (Thanks, @Nico Burgerhart!) I can comment on your followup question - merging two documentStores is not supported or recommended. In modifying any aspect of the documentStore, you are risking corruption - potentially with irreversible, detrimental effects on your Geocortex implementation. I recommend opening a support case to start a discussion with an analyst and look for alternative solutions. Thanks, Aaron Oxley
