Why does new aerial show outside its Basemap Slider Group?

I just added a new cached service to my site.  I added it to my "City Aerials" Basemap Slider Group, and it seems to work there properly...but it is also showing by itself using the original service name (1977_SR_Aerial):

  We see this, too, when we add new tiled services.  They default to the basemap type unless you uncheck the "Add as Base Map" box when adding the service. And since it comes in as a base map, you have to remove it from the "Base Maps" section when editing you Site in Essentials.
