Print tool notes text area loses focus after each character entry in Chrome only
Essentials 4.5.1, HTML5 Viewer 2.6.1 - When trying to type into the notes text area of the built in Print tool dialog, in Google Chrome browser 54.0.2840.71, the user must type one character then click the mouse to regain focus in the text area. This behaviour is not present in IE 9 or Firefox 49.0.2. Is this a known issue? Does anyone know if this will go away after a GE update to 4.6?

Hi Piper,
I just upgraded Chrome (v53 to v54) and I definitely see the same thing in 2.6.0/2.7.0, but not in 2.7.1. I don't see the issue reported in our issue tracker, so if something was changed to fix it in 2.7.1, it may have been unintentional. Or it could be that it isn't fixed but only occurs under different circumstance. I'll let the QA team know and see if we can't get to the bottom of this.0 -
Cross-posting my follow-up from (https://support.geocortex.com/EssentialsGSCForum?sub-nav=forum&main-nav=Essentials&feedtype=SINGLE_QUESTION_DETAIL&dc=Geocortex_Viewer_for_HMTL5&criteria=ALLQUESTIONS&id=90660000000PDuAAAW) this other thread :
It appears that this does not occur in 2.7.1. I've asked the team to try to dig into why that would be, as these now-it-works-now-it-doesn't issues tend to periodically regress if the underlying issue isn't determined, but it looks like upgrading to 2.7.1 should clear this issue up for you.

Thanks for the quick follow up Jordan. I'm planning to upgrade next month so that's good news. I would be interested in knowing the root of it if it does get discovered. 0 -
Hi Piper,
We have the same issue, as a temporary fix try unchecking the Multiline option.0 -
With 4.6.1 and GVH 2.6.1 we are only able to type one character at a time in our 'notes text area' when using Chrome Version 54.0.2840.87 m The user must click on the box each time they type a character. 0 -
Hi Phil! thanks for the tip! Our staff will appreciate it. I ran the upgrade in our dev environment last week and the issue is resolved in the latest. 0 -
Just discovered this after an upgrade to 2.7.0. I might try the temporary fix for now. 0 -
We are using (I know - we are behind) Google Chrome Version 54.0.2840.71 m and 2.5 with GVH 4.4.1
Issues:
1. Same note box in print window error as above
2. PDF not opening in browser - you can change the chrome://plugins and disable the Chrome PDF viewer - this forces the PDF to download automatically, then you can open it in whatever PDF viewer you choose
As a side note: We noticed the same PDF not opening if they are wide-format in Mozilla Firefox a while back - had to disable Firefox PDF as well and switch to use an Adobe product.
We are testing our upgrade now so looking forward to that.0 -
We are running with v4.10 and Chrome v73.0.3683.103 and getting the issue.
Any updates on this case?0
