Time slider extents - how do get a larger extent without expanding the slider?
Essentials 4.6.3 HTML5 2.7.2
I have time aware layers ranging in maximum extents out to 2044. However, the aggregate time slider for all time aware layers only defaults out to later this year. If I set the time slider Slide Maximum or Extent Maximum out further, then the slider bar becomes unusable as the extent is so large and there is no way to see a couple of months at a time.
What setting am I not understanding? How can I make it possibe for users to move out into the future when they want without making the slider bar meaningless?

Hi Sean,
From the admin guide:
"Each tick on a timeline represents an instant, as defined by the Time Interval and Time Interval Unit settings. The timeline shows a maximum of 50 instants. For example, even if the time interval is set to milliseconds and the time extent is set to 3 months, the timeline limits the selectable instants to 50. We recommend setting time intervals so that there are fewer than 50 instants on the timeline."
The short answer is that if you are using the slider, you will want to configure it so you are only sliding up to 50 ticks. That being said, you users can use the date picked to set the time extent, and then use the "Step forward" and "Step back" buttons to move the extent around.
I hope this helps!
Thanks,
