A second instance to access private arcgis online - can it be done?
I need to enable iPad-based mobile data editing on a signage point feature class, and for that purpose it looks like configuring access to ArcGIS Online organizational and storing the data there could be a solution. My current instance of GE is configured for Windows Sign-In, which I cannot change, meaning I cannot access private AGOL content. So can I install a second GE instance, and in post installer register it with ArcGIS Sign-In? This instance would be used only for mobile data editing in a viewer based on that instance.
A related question: I am licensed for ArcGIS Server Standard, hence why I suspect AGOL as being possibly the only way of mobile editing. But can a user actually edit a point feature class hosted in AGOL through the GVH? Please confirm.
In terms of editing in the GVH, I see it has a tool for adding features, but have not seen evidence it can edit an existing feature. Perhaps this is only because I've not enabled it. But can it do so?
While it bothers me that one GE instance cannot access both local SDE and private AGOL content at the same time, I am hopeful a second instance would be a solution. So please confirm for me.
Thanks,
Justin

You can edit existing features in GVH by identifying them. You then fo into the Panel Actions Menu on the result. 0 -
Thanks Mike. Does this mean I can do this without AGOL? The map service does have feature access, so will that be all I need? 0 -
I found that yes, I can edit as Mike describes without AGOL. What made the difference was removing the layer I'd brought in as a map service, and bringing it back in again as a Feature Layer. 0
