Why the saved project doesn't display on list of project for some owners?
Hi,
I'm having an issue with saved projects. For some users, I'm having issue with the saved
projects not displaying on list of project while trying to open project for some users, The Project opens fine wiht the url.
When I chagned the ownership and shared it with everyone, the same project is available on the project list that that user.
Not sure why this is happening.
Thanks,
Dibya

Hi Dibya,
I did some tests on this with a colleague, but we are not able to reproduce this. Is the issue still happening?
Thanks!

hi Daniel, we have the same issue here. Interesting though some users can see their own projects, some users can't.... 0 -
Hi Jack,
I'm still working on this with LG Support. So far what we have found is this is becuase of the userd being moved from one domain to another domain and in the AD Database, there is ObjectSID and SIDHistory entires for those users. For some reason Geocortex grabs entires from SIDHistory occasionally. For that reason there is different SID for the user logged on and the one saved in the saved project, and that use won't see it.
Can you confirm from your AD database that the user you are having this issue has SIDHistory on it?
I'm using ADExplorer.exe for that.

hi Dibya,
Thanks for the idea. Yes we have also moved from one domain to another and there're orphaned permission left in the Permission settings. However that was 6 months ago, the saved projects was working fine until recently. I check the users that can't see their projects, they don't have any SIDHistory. So far I have removed the orphaned permission items but still no luck0 -
Hi Jack,
It might be worthwhile to take a look at the docs_geocortex_essentials_users_documents index in elasticsearch, and look at the document type, to check your saved projects for anomalies. You can use the Manager for Elasticsearch which comes with Core (it can be found here: C:\Program Files\Latitude Geographics\Geocortex Core\Diagnostics\Manager for Elasticsearch\Elasticsearch.Manager.exe)
One thing I've seen happen before, is that if your site ID or viewer ID changes, your saved projects won't be associated with the new ID. That may be what your're experiencing.
If you can't see anything in there, please open a support case, so we can help you investigate!
Thanks,

Thanks Danny. I couldn't find the tool you mentioend in the Core directory. Is it avaible for GE4.6.3 which is the version we're on? Despite that, I'm sure the site ID and viewer ID were not changed. Also I could save my projects and ones saved and shared by others, but there're some users can't even see their own one.... 0 -
Oops, sorry Jack, I made an assumption there about the version. It's available in 4.7 and up.
Thanks,

We are starting to notice the same thing, some users cant see their saved projects,. Yet they are in the document list when I look though manager. If they share their project then it seems to become available?
We are on the same version as Jack.
We do run our production environment in a Cluster but the Elasticsearch Clucter Overview is showing green across the board on both servers so I dont think its a split brain issue0 -
As another data point, we have also experienced this issue, running Essentials 4.6.2.
Our Infrastructure team have been doing some work in the back end of our AD, so I wonder if this is causing our problem.0 -
we're having similar issues, with V4.9 and HTMLviewer 2.10 : Our user-logins are linked with corporate Active Directory LDAP. Sharing bookmarks functions corrctly for some users, but not for all.
I haven't managed to detect a pattern to the bug yet. It's definitely very odd..0 -
We have noticed that if a user is signed in using the correct username but maybe with an upper case or lower case difference, projects wouldnt show up. Since the project owner formatting is different even though it is the same user name. 0
