migration upgrade of GeoCortex 3.x to 4.x
Can anyone share their experience or point me to white paper documenting the migration and upgrade of 3.x GeoCortex sites to 4.x?
I have parallel servers running, is it as simple as copy the site folders from 3.x inetpub to 4.x inetpub? Also the viewers are in silverlight, how do i port them over to html5 viewer?
I have read a few procedure posted by others such as Jan Roggisch "Geocortex migration and upgrade" but none of those document jumping from release 3 to 4.
Any help is appreicated.

Hi,
You have two servers running, one with Essentials 3.x and the other with Essentials 4.x? You should be able to copy the sites from the Essentials site folder from the old server to the new server. If you had workflows/reports in the 3.x instance make sure they are copied into the right place on the new server sites folder.
Default Sites Folder:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Latitude Geographics\Geocortex Essentials\Default\REST Elements\Sites
The viewer migration will be far more involved. There's no way to convert a Silverlight viewer to an HTML5 viewer. You'll need to create the HTML5 viewer in Manager and add the Toolbar or "IWantToMenu" items. If you had custom modules in the Silverlight viewer then they will need to be rebuilt using the HTML5 SDK.
Thanks,
