How to label graphics with attribute value

I'm trying to label point graphics with each points Defect_Code attribute value. Is there any sample code for this anywhere. I think it has to be done with data binding but i couldn't figure out how to do it. Any example code would be great!

  We used to have this functionality with the Silverlight viewer.

   

  I would also like to know if it is available in HTML5.

  Hi Matt,

   

  I looked and did not find a way to configure the labels to use for point features in Essentials.  If possible, you can update your MXD document to configure labeling and that might work in the meantime.

   

  We recently added the ability to toggle layers on and off in the viewer; the ability to customize them is has not been added.
