Uploaded Data Location (HTML5)
Hello, I'm trying to find out where the data is stored when using the Upload Data tool, in the HTML5 Viewer. Or, how do I get the Graphic Layer ID of the Uploaded Data? Using the Layer Name as the Graphic Layer ID doesn't work when using the GetGraphicsLayerContent Workflow Activity.
Thank you!

Hi David,
When you upload a layer with the Upload Data / Add Data tool, it is assigned a random ID.
To my knowledge we cannot fetch that ID from a workflow.
It may be possible to create a custom viewer module that attaches additional events onto the upload function so that a workflow could obtain the layer IDs - or it may be simpler to look for a different solution to managing uploaded data.

I'm still working on this issue and I have a hard time understanding why the Uploaded Data are assigned a random Graphic ID. Why make this more difficult for developers? The Drawings all have the default Graphics ID "Drawings". Why can't the uploaded data be the same way, with a counter for multiple upload?
Graphics ID like the following would be so nice:
- UploadData0
- UploadData1
- UploadData2
- etc
There must be a formula that assigns that random Graphics ID. How can I get that formula?0 -
Hi David,
Can you please post this in the "Ideas" section of the Support Center? It may be just something that was never considered and having it in the Ideas section will make it visible to our Products team and allow other users to "up vote" it.
