data link error

Hello,

 

I ran into this problem today. I have been able to set up data links to other sql databases no problem. However today I was not able to set up a data link to this one sql database. The data connection is fine it connects successfully. However when setting up a data link the below error occurs.

 

Other databases on the same server have no issues setting up data links.

 

Is there a setting in that database that is blocking data links? Just to say again the data connection the database connects successfully.

  Hi Rick,

   

  There are many reasons why we may not be able to connect to the database for a data link, even if you can connect from the Data Connection wizard.

   

  To help troubleshoot I recommend enabling the DEBUG log in Managers' Application Settings, and then try to set up your Data Link again.  Essentials Manager should write to its SYSTEM log if it cannot make a connection to the database (or issue a SQL command) for some reason.
