Select Features to new or custom Results pane?

I want a select set from a custom workflow to appear in the results pane, but not replace the previous results.  In other words, I want a new results pane to be initiated for a workflow.  Maybe pics will help?

 

Here is a traditional result:

Once the item is clicked above, it runs a custom workflow that returns a Selected set of features (from SelectFeatures activity).  This is what you see:

What I want to have happen is more like this:

The reason I want a "new" results pane is because the features returned relate back to the original results (Identify results).  I want to give the option to my users to return to the original Identify results (or initial results pane) in case they want to continue to work with this original results set.

  Hi Michael,

   

  Did you try to use a different “Collection Name“ in the SelectFeatures activity in the 2 workflows?

   

  Also combine mode should help you to not overwrite results but not 100% sure on behaviour in this scenario … I would suggest to try combinations of this 2 attributes in the 2 workflows…

  Thanks for the reply Francesca!

   

  I found out a way to do what I wanted...and it did NOT involve using the SelectFeatures activity.  Instead, I used the DisplayResultsPicker activity in place of the SelectFeatures activity.  This gave me the option to pick the Workflow container--which I think is what makes all the difference.
