Set contains to false for global search (for exact matches)?
Hi, how do we set the global search to return only exact matches? I found some documentation about the search query class:
"geocortex.essentials.SearchQuery
Represents search query parameters for a Geocortex Search."
... which apparently has a parameter "contains" that can be true or false. How do I set this to false? Where is this setting found?

Hi Rob,
I'm afraid this is not an option, yet. There is an improvement request to allow for such a setting (GVH-9341) but it is not implemented or currently scheduled to get implemented.
You would need to implement this using a workflow as you have more control over the query being done.

HI Wayne, thanks for the answer. I thought it might be possible based on this documentation:
https://docs.geocortex.com/essentials/gvh/latest/api-help/classes/_essentials_amd_d_._geocortex_essentials_searchquery_.searchquery.html
But maybe I misinterpreted that as relating to the globabl search. Is the above documentatoin for layer queries then?0 -
Hi Rob,
That shows that the API is capable of it, the option would need to be added to the viewer management pack to take advantage of the setting. Currently a global search from the viewer is always a 'LIKE'. The GVH request I mentioned above is the improvement request to add the option.
