Remove base map from printed map
How go you prevent a basemap from appearing in the legend of a printed map? Currently the layers are set to not appear in the legend via the layer list; however they are still showing up in the legend when I print a map.

You will want to make sure that "Show in Layer List" is NOT selected for the base map in the 'Layer List' tab, as well as "Include in Legend" is NOT selected for the base map in the 'Map Services' tab. 0 -
I have made sure that "Show in Layer List" and "Include in Legend" is NOT selected for the base map both the 'Map Services' tab and the 'Layer List' tab and the layers still display on the printed maps legend.
Is this a result of the map being added as a Basemap layer? Is it possible that a configuration in the print template needs to be defined to honor the choices set for the layers?.0 -
I don't think that there is any configuration with the print template that would give control of what is included. It may be that the basemap was added as a layer, rather than a service. Verify if your service connections are open and include your target directories. I would try adding the desired basemap as a map service (with the map services tab active), and ensuring that the "Add as Basemap" box is checked. Then deselect the 'Include in Legend' boxes. I have found that I have had to play around with the settings when adding, how I add services, and how often I 'Apply Changes' and 'Save Site'. 0 -
Is your basemap dynamic? We have a cached service we use for our basemap it doesn't show up in the legend. We also use a dynamic service at larger scales for our street names and a few other labels so that when you are zoomed in you will still see a street label. The "Include in Legend" is turned off for that layer and it still show up when printing. Seems like this was fixed for awhile but then reverted back at 4.9. 0 -
Hi Stephen,
This issue has been previously reported and we are looking into fixing the issue. As Jeff touched on this is an issue with dynamic map services.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
