"Zoom to features" zooms in too far, any way to configure?
Using the default "Zoom to All" or the "Zoom to Feature" commands in the context menus zooms the view in too far for my liking (which call ZoomToFeatures and ZoomToFeature respectively). I don't really want to write custom code to have to zoom out (like, say 0.9x). Is there any way to configure these zoom tools so they don't zoom in so far?
Thanks beforehand,
Michael

The only solution I have found is to set the zoom scale at the layer level (Edit Layer --> Feature Zoom Scale: |___________| ). I found this useful because the desired zoom levels for points, lines, or polygons can vary greatly. 0 -
Generally, you only need to set that for points. The default for lines and polygons is to zoom to the feature envelope (to the nearest cached scale, or course). Points don't have an envelope, so need to set. 0 -
Sorry, missread your original post. Seems LG added a new control in Manager - in addition to Feature Zoom Scale, they have added Feature Zoom Factor on the layer Details tab. Haven't played with it yet, but I'm guessing it should do what you need. 0 -
Yes, putting a 2 causes it to zoom to a nice level for a parcel. .5 causes it to zoom in closer. 0 -
This is good info and it does work for click to zoom, but do you have any idea how to make the edit ZoomToFeature honor the layer zoom settings? We're editing polygons and when you click edit - it zooms in all the way, regardless of these settings. 0 -
Thanks Adam...that is my question, exactly.
Any takers?
