How to clear highlights when layer is turned off

If a layer is turned off or goes out of scale range, highlights for features that were selected earlier (e.g. by clicking in the result list) are still visible.

 

Is it possible to remove highlights for layes that are not currently visible?

  Do you mean in a tool or automatically when a layer turns off?  Because the latter seems like a good feature request but I think that you'd need to do some viewer customization OR hook a workflow into an event listener but I've never done either for this functionality.

  I think this should be automatic. It makes no sense to show highlights when the related layer is not visible.

  you can modify the module for highlights (there are various references to it in this forum)

   

  I myself have created a workflow that clears all selections (also referenced in this forum)

  Could you give some more details? How would the workflow remove highlights for a specific layer once it's no longer visible?
