[5.8] Allow GC Workflow to connect to SQL Server

Geocortex Workflow 5.8 introduced the Run SQL Query server activities, available when creating a server workflow.
It would be great if geocortex workflow could connect to SQL server (or other external databases). This (among other functionality) would allow for form elements to by dynamically populated.
