Plan for full Arcade support in Essentials?
Hi there,
I was curious if anyone knows of plans for Essentials to support Arcade for on-the-fly symbology, calculated field creation or labeling down the road? We're in the conundrum where we are using ArcMap to publish services to ArcGIS Server and there is no Arcade support going this route. I know that Pro supports Arcade, but am not sure how this support works when publishing to ArcGIS Server rather than AGOL/Portal. I noticed that it's possible to reference a Portal web map (which supports Arcade) in Essentials, but this reference does not bring across symbology or labeling (though perhaps it's possible to bring over calculated fields in the pop-up).
Thanks,
Nate Shaub

Nate - Great question and I, also, look forward to LatGeo's response. I know there is Arcade support in Workflow 5. How much you can do, I cannot answer. We have yet to really play with Arcade but it was on my list of things to do at the UC.
Yay! Another scripting language to learn. =)0 -
Hi Nate,
We don't plan on changing Essentials/GVH to improve support Arcade.
However, we are working on a new Web Viewer that uses the ArcGIS 4.x JavaScript API. This viewer will natively consume webmaps and have full suport for Arcade in symbology and feature popups.
