Follow me deactivates active tool

    Hi Berend,

During our development of the geolocation tools, we found that they interfered with any tool that could accept mulitple inputs (for example, a user trying to draw a polygon would have the map move while they were trying to input points).  The solution for that issue was to disable other tools when using the geolocation, and to disable geolocation when a tool is enabled.

I will file a bug to have our documentation updated to mention this behavior and why it happens.

If you have a use case for running GPS following with an active tool, please post it to the Ideas section!

    Thanks,

    Malcolm,

I can't follow you (no pun intended ;-). 'Follow me' doesn't imply a moving map, does it? As far as I can tell, it should just display the current location on the map. Keeping the location centered (which may cause the map to move) should be optional.

One use case would simply be: Identify a feature that's near my current location. If 'my location' disappears as soon a I activate 'Identify', it's much harder to do that.

I can imagine that drawing a polygon on a moving map is hard, but maybe a better solution could be to just suspend moving the map when user input is required.
