Error loading data sources and can't create blank report

I have installed Reporting 5 on premise and I am trying to use it for the first time. I am getting the following error when clicking on Data sources. There is also an error when trying to create a blank report (Internal server error?).

 

We have ArcGIS Enterprise 10.6 with Portal federated with ArcGIS Server.

 

Any ideas why this is happening?

  Hello Inga,

   

  I'm not entirely sure of the source of the error since there could potentially be many.

   

  Does this error appear when you load the Designer in Chrome? It appears as though you are using IE10; IE11 is the only version of Internet Explorer supported by the Designer.

   

  Also, though not a requirement, I would suggest installing the web adaptor for your Portal for ArcGIS instance and remove the port from the registered Portal URL.

  Hi Stefan,

  In Chrome we are getting an ArcGIS Portal Configuration error.

  I think it could be related to using windows authentication and instead we are now looking to switch to SAML as the identity provider for ArcGIS Portal. Hopefully that fixes it.

  For anyone else having this issue: we still had the issue after switching to SAML but resolved it (with the help of support) by switching on anonymous access to the /Geocortex/Reporting/service application in IIS.
