_BigLayerSymbol What is is?
What is the _BigLayerSymbol in the Legend Report Designer?

The other 4 that are returned are easy to understand. Picture examples anyone?
I took the default legend.rpx and am tweaking it for each "layout". For exmaple here are two legends on a portrait with 3 columns. By removing the _BigLayerSymbol I get so much more real estate.
I always tell my users this never replaces a human but def the more we can jam into a legend made by a computer the better! Will I miss anything by removing the _BigLayerSymbol

Hi Dylan,
This was a tough question, we had to look deep in the source code to figure it out.
The _BigLayerSymbol column in the legend datatable is populated if the legend swatch for a layer is bigger than half an inch wide and tall. If it exists then Legend.rpx will expand the line item to fit the larger swatch.
If you're trying to cram more information into the legend, then removing the swatch should have no bad effect, since the alternative would be shrinking the swatch down to fit (in which case, the big swatch is now even harder to read). You obviously do not want one line item in the legend to grow, since that would push other items away on the legend.
You may want to keep it around on simpler maps that have very large symbols - however, in my opinion your large symbols should be self-explanatory and may not even need a legend.
