Logging which features in a layer are being identified by users
This is a long shot but I'm asking anyway... Is anyone capturing/logging statistics regarding which features in a layer a user is identifying on? Geocortex Analytics does not have that granularity so I am wondering if someone has rolled their own solution.
We have an Active Projects viewer for our major development projects (http://products.issaquahwa.gov/html5viewerpublic/index.html?viewer=activeprojectspublic) and our Development Services staff asked if it were possible to know which projects users are clicking on so that more resources for outreach, etc. could be directed toward those projects.
Any ideas or solutions you might have regarding this would be welcomed!

One way would be to write a custom module that listens to certain viewer events, and then for instance invokes a workflow that writes the information to a database.
See here: https://docs.geocortex.com/essentials/gvh/2.10/commands-help/#/events, for instance FeatureDetailsInvokedEvent or SelectionChangedEvent. Which event you need depends on what exactly you want to log, but you get the idea.0 -
Berend, thanks for responding. For my very focused need, something like that might work well. I’ll look into that.
Happy to entertain any and all ideas!0 -
Hi Brian,
If you haven't already done so, I would add this to the "Ideas" section of the Support Center. There will be new releases of Analytics in 2019 and if this idea garners enough attention, it would be something that would be seriously considered.
